Description

Ye Olde Castle Inne is a timber-framed building that dates from the 17th century or earlier. It was refronted in the 18th century but still shows a slight overhang of the first floor and a trace of a bressumer along this edge. The building has two storeys and an attic, featuring three windows and two dormers. The front is finished in stucco, while the sides are made of stone rubble. It has a tiled roof and sash windows, although the glazing bars are missing. The doorway is topped with a flat hood supported by brackets. Below the building, there is a vaulted cellar that dates back to around 1300.
