Description

Salutation Cottages, formerly known as the Salutation Inn, is a building that likely dates back to the 15th century. It has been restored and refaced following bomb damage during the war. The structure has two storeys and features three windows. The east wall displays some exposed timbering and close-studding with plaster infilling, but the ground floor is primarily faced with red brick on a stone base, while the upper part is tile-hung. The building has a steeply-pitched hipped tiled roof. A pointed stone doorway on the east front leads to a vaulted cellar that dates back to around 1300.
