Description

Five Chimneys is a 17th century or earlier timber-framed house that has been restored by W H Godfrey after sustaining bomb damage during the war. The ground floor is now fronted with red brick, while the upper part features tile-hung facing along Mill Road and stone rubble facing Castle Street. The house has a hipped tiled roof and modern casement windows, including one bay window on the first floor. It is two storeys tall and has five windows. Beneath the building, there is a vaulted cellar that dates back to around 1300.
