Description
Nos 15 to 24 on Landgate are generally 18th century or early 19th century facades that belong to earlier buildings. Most of the properties are two storeys tall, except for No 17, which has three storeys. Nos 16, 17, 19, 20, 22, and 23 feature painted brick on the ground floor and painted tiles on the upper floor. No 24 has brick on the lower ground floor and plain tiles above, with curved tiles on the upper storey. Nos 18, 21, and the Queen's Head are rendered white, while No 17 is made of red brick. Nos 17 and 21 have parapets. All except No 18 and the Queen's Head have shop windows on the ground floor. Nos 19 and 20 display a 19th century shop front with three windows, where the northern window retains original glazing bars. No 21 features an impressive early 19th century shop front with round-headed iron glazing bars that match the style of the house window. No 23 has a mid-19th century shop front with cast iron glazing bars. Together, Nos 15 to 24 form a cohesive group.
