Description

1-5, School Cottages, is an originally mid-19th century school and schoolmaster’s house, likely designed by S.S. Teulon. The building is L-shaped, comprising a northwest wing that served as the school, and a southeast wing that functioned as the schoolmaster’s house. Constructed of stone rubble, it features a tiled roof and casement windows. The northwest wing is three stories high with two levels of dormers, presenting five windows. This wing has four squared dormers on the lower level and three triangular dormers above. The southeast wing is two stories high, featuring three windows, two gables (one of which projects), a small bay on both floors between bays, and a pointed doorway.
