Description

The Church of the Holy Spirit is a church built in 1848-1849, designed by architect S S Teulon, in the 14th-century Gothic style. It features a chancel and nave that are not divided, a porch at the southwest angle, and an octagonal turret for bells. The structure is made of stone rubble with buttresses and has a tiled roof. Inside, the chancel has a barrel vault, while the nave boasts a scissor-beam roof. The interior also includes several boards commemorating the 128 lives saved by six lifeboats between 1862 and 1928, as well as the loss of the Mary Stanford on November 15, 1928.
