Description
Bradness, formerly known as Coppard's Farm, is a Grade II listed house located on Spithurst Road in Barcombe. The building has a half-H shape, with the north wing and likely the central portion dating from the 17th century or earlier. The north wall features timber framing with painted brick infilling in a herring-bone pattern, while the east wall is tile-hung. The west side facing the road has been refaced in the 18th century with red brick and alternating grey headers. The south wing was added during this period. Both the north and south wings have scalloped gables, each displaying the initials "F.S.S. II" and "F.S.S. 12," which were used on all buildings within the Sutton Hall estate. The house has a tiled roof, casement windows, and stands two storeys tall with four windows. There is a brick chimney breast with offsets on the north wall.
