Description
Nos 3 and 4 Wellington Square, dating from around 1820, are a pair of four-storey buildings with a basement. The ground floor is rusticated and finished in stucco, while the upper floors feature a parapet. No 4 has a slated mansard roof with two flat-roofed dormers that contain sash windows, while No 3 has a slate hipped roof. Each building is two windows wide, with all windows being sashes that include glazing bars. The first floor of No 3 features a very tall window, while No 4 has French windows on the first floor that open onto balconies adorned with a Greek key motif in ironwork. The ground floor of No 3 includes a canted bay window and a round-headed window with voussoirs, while No 4 has an elliptical-headed window with a traceried fanlight, also featuring voussoirs. The buildings also have basement area railings with arrow-head shafts and turned newels topped with pineapple finials. All the listed buildings in Wellington Square are part of a group.
