Description

The Burton Memorial Stone, dated 1898, is a roughly-hewn pink granite block that stands about 5 feet high and tapers towards the top. It is set on a low plinth and features an inscription that reads, "This stone erected in 1898 marks the eastern boundary at this point of the Town of St Leonards Founded by the Late James Burton Esq 1828."
