Description

1-8 Undercliff Terrace is a circa 1830-1850 terrace of stuccoed cottages designed by James Burton. The terrace has a moulded cornice to the parapet and slate roofs, with later flat-roofed dormers. The buildings are two storeys high, with attics and a basement. The arrangement is of 3 windows, followed by 12, and then 6, with the end properties projecting slightly. The windows are largely original sash windows with glazing bars. Slightly projecting porches have cornices and round-arched doorways. Number 1 has a mansard roof and balconies to the first-floor windows. Number 8 has had a later two-storey canted bay window added, and the cornice is missing. Numbers 1 to 8 form a group.
