Description
Fairlight Lodge Hotel, built around 1800, is a weatherboarded building located on Fairlight Road. The left section features a hipped tiled roof, is two storeys high, and has three sash windows with glazing bars. The ground floor on the right side includes a window with margin lights and an off-centre moulded doorcase topped with a flat hood supported by shaped brackets, leading to a modern glazed door, with a narrow sash window above it. The right section of the building is angled at 40 degrees, also two storeys tall, with three windows. The first floor slightly overhangs and has small casement windows, while the left side of the first floor is boarded over, and the ground floor features a round-headed window. A central glazed porch with wooden posts and brackets supports a projecting weatherboarded bay on the first floor, which has splayed corners and continuous casements beneath a hipped roof. This section has a new tiled roof, and there are 19th and 20th-century additions at each end.
