Description

Guestling Lodge, dating to around 1840, is built in the Tudor style and is constructed of ashlar stone with slate roofs. The building is two storeys high and consists of three bays. The central bay is recessed and features a small gabled window on the first floor. The outer bays project forward and are also gabled. All gables have shaped and pierced bargeboards. Windows have drip mouldings; the ground floor has two canted bays, and the windows are casements with 4-centred headed lights. A single-storey wing, rendered in cement, adjoins the right side of the building. A two-storey entrance addition was added to the left end around 1930. The interior includes a fireplace with shafted pilasters, naturalistic carving, painted shields, and a pointed arch. A change of name is recorded, altering “Guestling Lodge Hotel” to "No. 7 (Guestling Lodge)."
