Description

Hornbeam is a cottage dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. It is constructed of painted brick and features a gabled and hipped old tile roof. The building has a parallel ridge plan with two gables on the northeast side and stands two storeys tall.

The front facing the road has two 19th-century three-light casement windows that are irregularly spaced on the first floor, with a large chimney projecting from the wall between them. There is a closed entrance porch that contains a four-panelled door topped with a gabled roof. To the right of the porch, there is a small pent roof above another three-light 19th-century casement window. The other first-floor windows are sliding casements with glazing bars.
