Description

Ivy Cottage is a 17th-century cottage situated on the north side of Sonning Pearsor Road. The building has an old tile gabled roof. The front facade has been recently restored, featuring rendered infill and false timbers that follow the lines of the original timber frame. It has two bays with three-light leaded casement windows set in flood frames, and a central four-panelled door beneath a flat hood. A chimney is located centrally on the ridge of the roof, with a smaller chimney on the gable end. The interior retains timber framing throughout, including arch braces and Queen posts in the roof. The ground-floor joists are chamfered and stop-chamfered with run-out stops.
