Description
Midland Bank, St. Anne's Cottage, and Sonning Butchers is a row of three houses that have been combined into one house, a shop, and a bank. This building dates from the late 17th century to the early 18th century and has been altered over time. It stands two storeys high with an attic and features a brick plinth. The building has a first-floor string course and an old tiled roof, with two rectangular brick chimneys located at the center and left of center.
The front elevation includes one gabled dormer window and five upper three-light casement windows, two of which are leaded, while the others are from the 19th century. There are also two single upper lights. On the ground floor, there is a 19th-century shop and door on the left side, featuring a six-light wood mullioned and transomed window with 19th-century lights beneath a brick drip mould. Additionally, there is a four-panelled door (St. Anne's), a similar window, a 20th-century door, a three-light leaded casement in a wood frame, and a modern bow window on the right side (The Midland Bank).
