Description
The cottages, Glendale and York Cottage, date to the 16th and 17th centuries, and have undergone alterations. They are two storeys and an attic. The lower part of the building is timber-framed with brick infilling, coloured washed. The upper part is rendered and also coloured washed, with an old tile roof. One chimney is located to the east of the centre, and another at the west end, featuring a 17th-century brick base and later brickwork above. The first-floor level projects and is supported by plain brackets.
The north front has three upper 3-light leaded casement windows. These sit above rectangular bays on the ground floor, which also have 3-light leaded casements, narrow side lights in wooden frames, and small cornice heads. Two doors are positioned centrally – a 2-panelled door on the right and a ledged door on the left. The east gable end has a central attic light, irregular leaded casements, and a door below. The west gable has a small 3-light diamond mullioned window on the ground floor.
A 17th-century extension, known as Glendale, is located to the left, and is constructed of coloured-washed brick with an old tile roof. It has one bay featuring 2-light leaded, segmental-headed casements with shutters on the ground floor, a blocked upper window to the left, and a blocked doorway below.
