Description
31 and 31A Rose Street is a cottage that has been converted into offices. It dates from the mid-17th century and has been altered and extended in the late 18th century and mid-20th century. The building features a combination of timber framing encased in painted rough cast and brick. It has a steeply pitched gabled roof covered with old tiles and two tall chimneys on the left roof slope, topped with clay pots. The structure has a rectangular plan with an extension at the rear and stands two storeys high. There is a black painted projecting plinth, a one-bay gabled front, and sash windows with glazing bars set in architrave frames. The entrance door, which is from the 20th century, is located on the right and features a flat hood supported by plain brackets, along with an overlight above the hood.
