Description

This is a milestone located to the north-northwest of Sheep Bridge, dating from the early 19th century. It is a small stone monolith that has a semi-circular shape and a splayed top. The top is inscribed in upper case letters with serifs, indicating the distances to Southampton (41 miles), Basingstoke (11 miles), and Reading (5 miles).
