Description
The Cottage is a building that dates back to the 16th century, with extensions from the 17th century and alterations made in the 20th century. Originally a cottage, it has been converted into a house. The structure is timber framed and later faced with flint and brick dressings. It features an old tiled gabled roof with a large 17th-century brick chimney at the rear. The building has a T-plan layout with four timber frame bays and a two-bay extension at the rear, standing two storeys high.
On the east front, there are four bays with two-light wood casement windows on the first floor, which have small gables that break the eaves, along with a central blocked window. The ground floor includes three three-light small pane casement windows, a blocked window to the right of centre, and a 20th-century entrance door that is half glazed with small panes, situated under a tiled pent porch supported by cut brackets, located in the second bay from the left. Inside, some of the timber frame is exposed.
