Description

Thamesford is a cottage, now a house, dating from the 17th century and later, situated near Wargrave Ferry Lake. The building exhibits a mix of construction materials, including timber framing, brick, and flint. It has an old tile roof with two chimneys positioned along the ridge. The plan is L-shaped, featuring a three-by-two bay arrangement with a two-bay crosswing. The house is two storeys high with an attic. The front facing the road is gabled on the left side, showcasing a timber-framed section with roughcast infilling, including two 20th-century attic windows and one 18th-century leaded casement on each of the lower floors. The right-hand side features a brick section with a single three-light casement window on the upper floor, a 20th-century entrance door below, and two similar three-light casement windows to the right, all dating to the 18th century.
