Description
The George Inn is a building that dates back to the 16th century or earlier, with a modernized front and 17th century two-storey gabled extensions at the rear. The structure is rendered and colourwashed over a timber frame. The oldest part of the building, which faces the road, is one storey with an attic and features old clay tiles and a lower ridge. It has three gablets, each with a three-light early 19th century casement window, and two chimneys. On the ground floor, there are two three-light small pane casement windows on either side of a gabled entry porch that has a modern door. To the right, there is a double pair of ledged, braced, and framed doors. The ground floor windows are fitted with 19th century framed and panelled shutters. There is also a modern flat roof extension on the left side.
