Description

The premises occupied by Alden and Blackwell, booksellers, is an early to mid 19th-century building. It is constructed of red brick with a stucco channelled ground floor. The building features window dressings, end pilasters, a roof cornice, and a blocking course. It stands three storeys high and has five sash windows with glazing bars, which are surrounded by segmentally headed architraves. The first floor includes friezes and cornices. Additionally, there is a shop window and a canted bar window.
