Description

Brookside Lodge is a late 18th-century house, extended in the 19th and 20th centuries. The house is constructed of red brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with a hipped slate roof. It has a rectangular plan. The south front, formerly with three bays, has been extended with a bay on the right and a canted bay on the left. The first and third bays feature Venetian windows. The second bay contains a 20th-century half-glazed door, which originally led onto a balcony. A projecting bay to the fourth bay on the ground floor features a 20th-century window. The entrance is approached via a 20th-century porch with a lead roof and sides designed to resemble Venetian windows and with a mostly glazed door. A two-storey extension to the rear has a hipped, tiled roof. A 20th-century wing adjoining the north side (Brookside House) is of no particular architectural interest. The interior has not been inspected. The property is located on Winkfield Road, Ascot.
