Description
Queen Anne's Gate Lodge is a Grade II listed building located on King's Road, serving as a lodge to Windsor Great Park. This two-storey lodge, built around 1830-1836, features the initials "W R IV" inscribed on a shield. The structure is made of painted stone and includes a band between the storeys and gables adorned with cusped pierced bargeboards. The eaves boards are fretted, and the roof is covered with scalloped slates, complete with finials.
The lodge has a three-bay road front, with a broader gable over the central section that includes a porch. The first floor has casement windows, while the ground floor features canted bay windows with pent roofs made of scalloped slates. The porch has a four-centred chamfered arch, and above it is a small pent roof with a rectangular casement bay window. The south and north fronts each have two similar windows, with gables above them, contributing to the picturesque appearance of the building.
Queen Anne's Gate Lodge, along with Nos 1 to 6 Crown Cottages and Nos 7 to 12 Crown Cottages, forms a cohesive group on the west side of King's Road.
