Description

Hamilton Lodge is a large, asymmetrical red brick house dating from circa 1860-70, built with Bath stone dressings. The house has three and two storeys. A break to the left features a slate roof extending over a canted ground floor bay, faced with limestone. A large three-light window is centrally positioned at ground floor level, also limestone-faced, and includes a pierced quatrefoil balcony. A gabled porch with an ogee arched entrance is located to the left, with limestone detailing. Shaped limestone window heads and colonnetted windows are visible to the right. The roof has a hipped gable and straight gable ends. It forms a group of buildings of group value with numbers 100 to 110 (even) Albert Terrace, numbers 1 to 9 (consec) Queen's Terrace, the gate piers and forecourt wall of Queen's Terrace.
