Description

The Three Tuns Hotel, located at Nos 7 and 8 Market Street, dates back to 1515 and was significantly altered in the early 19th century. It is a three-storey building with a timber frame and a roughcast upper section that projects over the ground floor. The front has been altered several times, featuring irregular windows and doors arranged between pilasters, with black vitreous tiling applied to the walls. The upper section incorporates three two-light casements on the second floor and three coupled windows on the first floor. There is a one-bay extension to the left, originally part of the main front, now forming No 7. The Church Lane front also displays irregular window placement. Historically, this building served as the Guildhall of Holy Trinity.
