Description
Nos 42 to 45 on Thames Street are a group of buildings dating from around 1830 to 1840. No 42 is a three-storey structure with a stucco facade and a parapet. It features three windows on the upper floors, each surrounded by moulded architraves. The central window is flanked by panelled pilasters, topped with a cornice that has a Greek key pattern and acroteria above. The ground floor has a modern shop front. Nos 43 and 45 are two-storey buildings with a timber frame, altered in the early 19th century and also faced with stucco. They have a parapet with coping and a steep gable end slate roof, with three two-light wood casements on the first floor and modernised plain shop fronts from the early 19th century. These buildings form a cohesive group with Nos 40A to 45.
