Description
Burycourt Farmhouse is a farmhouse, now a house, dating from the early 18th century, with an extension added in the early 19th century and alterations made in the 20th century. The building features part blue brick header bond with red brick dressings and part red brick in Flemish bond, topped with hipped slate roofs. It has a rectangular plan with a rectangular extension on the north-west side and stands two storeys tall, with two chimneys that have clay pots.
The north-west front, which was the former entrance front, consists of three bays. On the left is a mid-19th century canted bay, while the central entrance door has six panels, with the top four panels later glazed, and is topped by a semi-circular fanlight with radiating glazing bars. To the right, there are a pair of French casement doors beneath a two-bay verandah. The verandah extends four bays along the south-west front and features a swept metal roof supported by decorative slender iron supports and cusped pelmets. This front also includes two windows on the first floor and a similar pair of French casement doors beneath the verandah.
