Description
Little Tudors is a cottage, now a house, dating from the mid-15th century. It has been altered in the 18th century and the late 20th century. The building is timber-framed with brick infill, featuring a herring-bone pattern on the ground floor. It has an old tile gabled roof. The plan is rectangular, consisting of four framed bays, with a jetty on the north side. It adjoins No. 16 Church Cottage and Bryher and Old Barn Cottage, which are listed separately. The building is two storeys high, with a ridge chimney. Twentieth-century diamond-leaded casement windows are present. The north front has three bays, with a brick plinth under the sole plate. Close studding is visible on the ground floor, along with very large principal jetty beams. There are two windows to the left of the entrance door, which is likely original and positioned in its original location, and one window to the right of the door. The door features wide studded planks and strap hinges, and the moulded door frame is chamfered with plain stops. Internally, two frames of roof truss are visible on each gable – on the first floor and at the west end of the ground floor. Long tension braces are also present. The timber frame and roof were heightened, likely in the 18th century.
