Description
Bryher Cottage and The Old Barn Cottage is a building that dates back to the 18th century and has been altered in the late 20th century. Originally a barn, it has been converted into two houses. The structure is made of brick with dark headers and features an old tiled gabled roof, with a rectangular plan and two storeys.
The left-hand section, known as Bryher Cottage, has two three-light windows on the first floor, a lean-to extension on the left side of the ground floor, and a recessed plank entrance door with a three-light window to the right. The right-hand section, The Old Barn Cottage, includes a former midstrey on the left, is weatherboarded, and has a three-light window in the gable along with a four-light window below. The roof extends over a former aisle, which has a glazed garden door on the right.
The entrance to The Old Barn Cottage is located on the gable facing the road, featuring a large diagonal-boarded panel and a three-light window to the right, with two two-light windows above. On the rear side, which faces the church, there are blocked ventilation slots and a date panel inscribed with "W.P." There are no windows on this front. The date "1749" is also noted.
