Description

The ice house located in the garden of No. 60 Lawn Close is an 18th-century structure built of brick in Flemish bond, featuring a segmental roof. The floor is made of brick paviors. It consists of a circular single chamber with a threshold that is below ground level, accessed by six irregular brick steps. The roof creates a conical mound above the ground. There is a small retaining wall made of flint and mortar above the entrance, at the top of the mound. This ice house may have originally belonged to "The Lawn."
