Description
The Ferry, formerly known as the Ferry Hotel, is a row of cottages that now serves as a public house. It dates from the early 17th century and was altered in the mid-20th century. The building features a timber frame with painted brick infill and an old tile gabled roof. It has a rectangular plan consisting of six framed bays that adjoin the Ferry Hotel to the north. There is a large mid-20th century extension that is not of special interest. The structure stands two storeys high and has two ridge chimneys located left of center, along with two additional chimneys at the south end on the east and west roof slopes, all topped with clay pots. The windows are irregular leaded casements, mostly from the 20th century, set within the timber frame. Inside, the timber frame is exposed, and the principal beams are chamfered with bar stops.
