Description

The Old Mail House is a house dating to the 16th century, with additions and alterations from the 19th and 20th centuries. The walls are rendered and the gables are tile-hung, with a tiled roof and a central brick chimney. The house has two storeys and features two 20th-century casement windows to the left of a 19th-century window, a six-panel door within a simple reeded doorcase with a plain flat hood, and one 20th-century casement to the right. There are four 20th-century casements on the first floor. The interior retains some exposed timber framing and chamfered beams. The building comprises four structural bays, with the second bay from the right being a shorter bay that incorporates the chimney.
