Description
No. 1 Horn Street is a house that was originally built as a house and smithy in the early 19th century. It is constructed of brick, featuring grey headers and red stretchers, and has tiled roofs. The building has a rectangular plan, with the former smithy located to the north-west of the house. It is two storeys tall, while the smithy is a single storey, and both sections have flanking chimneys.
On the south-west elevation, the smithy is on the left, showcasing three-light cast iron casements beside a central stable-type door. To the right is the house, which has two three-light horizontal sliding casements with cambered heads, flanking a central door that is topped by a flat hood supported on iron brackets.
