Description
Yew Tree House is a house dating from the early 17th century, with alterations made in the 18th century. The south side features a combination of render and tile hanging over a timber frame, while the north side has a timber frame with painted brick infill. The roofs are tiled. The building has a T-shaped plan, with a cross piece running east to west and four cross gables on the south side. The short stem of the T is slightly to the east of the center on the north side, which has catslides over outshuts. The south wing is one storey and has an attic, while the north wing is one and a half storeys high. There are chimneys located between the first and second gables from the west on the ridge of the south wing and at the east end of the ridge. On the south elevation, there are five glazing bar sash windows with rendered architraves that are irregularly spaced on the ground floor. The first floor features four tile-hung gables, each with bargeboards and a glazing bar sash window. The entrance is located under a lean-to on the east side.
