Description

Church Farm House is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century with additions from the early 19th century. It is constructed of brick, partly painted on the north side, with the ground floor rendered on the east; the roofs are tiled. The house has an L-shaped layout, with an older wing to the west and a 19th-century front to the east featuring two cross-gables. The east wing is two storeys high, while the west wing is one-and-a-half storeys. Features include a plinth, a first-floor band, and a ridge chimney on each gable of the east wing. The north elevation of the west wing has three gabled eaves dormers, with a ridge chimney offset to the east and an end chimney to the west. On the east elevation, there are three glazing bar sash windows, those on the ground floor with marginal glazing; a central door is sheltered by a timber gabled porch. The north elevation has a 19th-century wing to the left with a glazing bar sash window with marginal glazing and a two-light casement to the right. The older 17th-century wing to the right features a tripartite glazing bar sash window with shutters to the left, a glazing bar sash and mullion and transomed casement in the centre, and a boarded door under a gabled porch to the right, with a further two-light casement to the far right.
