Description
Gable Cottage is a house dating from the 16th and 17th centuries. It is timber framed with brick nogging and features an old tile roof that is hipped to the right, with a central ridge stack. The lower cross wing projects to the left and has a decorative king post in the gable end above a 2-light 20th-century casement window. The house consists of one framed bay with a small framed bay around the stack, and the 16th-century cross wing has two framed bays. The building is two storeys high, with the cross wing being 1.5 storeys. On the first floor, there is a 3-light 20th-century casement window to the right and a small one-light casement to the left. On the ground floor, there is a 2-light 20th-century casement window to the right with a small casement to the left, a 20th-century gabled porch with a glazed door to the right in the cross wing, and a 2-light casement to the left. Additionally, there is a 20th-century one-storey lean-to to the right with a casement window under a segmental head.
