Description

An early 18th-century building, originally part of the Phoenix Inn, remodelled in the early 19th century. It is three storeys high and has four windows. The roof is hipped and covered with tiles, featuring an old brick stack. The front is rendered in stucco and includes a cornice and block course. It has slightly recessed sash windows with glazing bars and exposed boxing. A wooden shopfront is present, with pilasters that support an entablature with a projecting cornice. The shop windows and doorway have been altered. Inside, there is a good original staircase with turned balusters and a moulded handrail. The building appears substantially as it is now in a print dating from around 1825.
