Description
The Clock Tower Inn is a building dating from around 1800 that originally comprised a pair of shops, now functioning as a single establishment. It stands two storeys high with dormers and features two windows. The roof is tiled with a ridge stack, and the building is constructed of red brick with a stucco ground floor. The flat-topped dormer windows have sash designs, and the recessed sash windows are adorned with gauged flat red brick arches and glazing bars. The original shopfronts are well-preserved, featuring narrow pilasters that support an entablature with a projecting, bracketed cornice and an upswept frieze. Each former shop has paired windows, with the northern shop retaining its glazing bars. There is a half-glazed doorway at the southern end, while the former shop doorway at the northern end has been blocked. A passage entrance is located at the northern end. The building was converted into a public house before 1877.
