Description
This barn, located approximately 30 metres to the north-east of Ufton Court, dates from the early 18th century and has mid-19th century additions. It features a combination of timber framing and red brick, with a partially weatherboarded gabled porch on the south-east side and a hipped old tile roof that has a catslide over a later outshot to the south-west. The barn consists of seven bays, with an aisle on the south-east side and central chamfered breather openings with transoms on the north-west side, as well as two openings on the north-east side. There are paired boarded waggon doors, with those on the north-east side having a segmental relieving arch. A segmental arched entrance is present in the lean-to on the north-west side, which also has two arched recesses in the inside wall. The interior features a double purlin roof supported by stepped queen post trusses, along with transverse and longitudinal bracing.
