Description
This barn, located to the north-east of St. Catherine's Court, is likely from the 15th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble with freestone dressings and features a stone slate roof with coped raised verges. The barn has a traditional layout with opposing gabled, projecting porches, and coped gables topped with ball finials. The entrance is square-headed, and there is a stable door to the right of the south porch, with a loft door above it. The elevation and gable ends include putlog holes. Inside, the barn has 8 or 9 bays, with the central trusses being raised crucks that have arch-braced collar beams. The first truss to the west includes a hammer beam and strut, while other collar beam trusses feature some windbraces.
