Description
This is an implement shed built in the late 18th century for Elizabeth Nelson, located approximately 5 metres north of a barn and 80 metres southeast of Manor Farmhouse. The shed features a timber frame with later cladding made of corrugated iron on a breeze-block plinth and has a hipped corrugated iron roof. It consists of 4 bays and includes a side outshut on the left under a catslide roof. There are later double board doors on the left bay. Originally, the shed was open on all sides, supported by earth-fast jowled wall posts that are arch-braced to the wall plates and tie-beams. The roof trusses are notable for having collared inwardly-raked struts flanked by outwardly-raked struts, with two tiers of threaded through purlins and curved wind braces in the two central bays. The outshut on the left side is separated by an original weather-board partition on a brick plinth. This shed is distinguished by its unusual form of roof truss.
