Description
Rooks Wake is a cottage dating from the early 17th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. It features a timber frame with painted brick infill and a thatched roof. The building has a rectangular plan with an outshut on the north and part of the east sides. It is one and a half storeys tall, with an eaves dormer cut into the thatch on the south side and flanking chimneys on the east and west. The west chimney includes a bread oven and is set apart from the end frame, with the thatch hipped at each end and sweeping down over the outshut. On the south elevation, the timber frame is exposed, and there are two irregular 2-light leaded casements flanking a boarded door located to the right of centre, with a dormer window above the right-hand casement.
