Description
The Kitchen and Theatre Block, located approximately 10 metres north of Bucklebury House, is a building dating from around 1800. It is constructed of red brick and features an old tile hipped roof, with an end stack to the west and a central timber cupola topped with a bell and an ogee lead cap. The building is designed in an L-shape and consists of one storey.
On the south front, there are three bays, with two large glazing bar sash windows on the left that have exposed wooden boxes, and a four-panelled door on the right with a small glazing bar sash window above it. The theatre block at the rear has a lower half hipped roof and two segmental headed casement windows on the west side.
Inside, the kitchen block includes a contemporary fireplace complete with a spit, fan, pulleys, and grate, which is dated 1809 and marked with the initials W.H.H.H. The sash windows in the building still retain their shutters.
