Description

The Crown Public House is a mid-19th century building located on the north-east side of Shirley High Street. It is two storeys high and has a stuccoed exterior with a hipped slate roof. The front features five sash windows, some of which still have their original glazing bars. The ground floor has a modern Regency-style bar front. To the left, there is a two-storey section that is also stuccoed, with two sash windows on the first floor and four modernised sash windows on the ground floor. Attached to this section is a later 19th-century stable block, which is pebbledashed and has a slate roof with a pediment and a loading door.
