Description
47 and 48 St Thomas's Street are a pair of houses built in the late 18th century. No. 47 is finished in stucco, while No. 48 features painted brickwork. Both houses have a plain tile roof with two stacks at the rear; the left stack is rendered and the right stack is made of brick. They are two storeys tall with an attic.
The entrance to No. 47 is on the left and features a door with six moulded panels, topped with a bracketed pediment and flanked by pilasters, accessed by a flight of five stone steps with attached railings. To the right of the door, there are two 12-pane sash windows. No. 48 has a similar design but the door is on the right side, with a tympanum that includes a relief of a draped vase. A brick plat band on No. 48 stops at the door hood. Each house has two 12-pane sash windows on the first floor, and both have tiled eaves. There is a two-light flat-roofed dormer on each house. The interior has not been inspected.
