Description
The Lodge is a house built in the late 18th century, featuring a stucco exterior and a plain tile mansard roof. It has three storeys and an attic, with two bays. The entrance on the right consists of a six-panelled door, with the upper two panels being glazed. To the left of the door is a 16-pane sash window with shutters, and above it is a moulded band. The first floor showcases a tripartite bowed oriel window on the left, which includes a central 12-pane sash flanked by two 8-pane sashes. This window is adorned with a frieze and cornice above, as well as a panelled apron below. The first and second floor also feature 16-pane sash windows, and there is a moulded cornice at the eaves. Two dormers with 8-pane sashes are present on the roof. On the left side of the building, there is a plaque that reads: "In this house was born on the 17th April 1833 Vicat Cole, the famous landscape painter," who was the son of George Cole. The interior has not been inspected.
