Description

This is a pair of early 19th century houses located on Peacock Lane, Portsmouth. The houses are built of red brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with a plain tile roof and a reduced, rendered stack on the left-hand side. They are two storeys and have an attic. The original design featured three bays.

Number 7 has a 20th-century door to the right, with a flat brick arch above. It retains an original 12-pane sash window on the first floor, set under a flat, rendered arch, along with a ground-floor sash window and an attached guard rail to the sills. Number 9 has a 20th-century door on the left. Both houses have late 20th-century UPVC window replacements in the original sash openings, again with flat, rendered arches over, and a late 20th-century window guard on the first floor. A blind window is located centrally on the first floor, and a former second-floor window has been converted into an attic dormer. Each house also has a single, late 20th-century dormer. The interior of the houses has not been inspected.
