Description
Monck's Bar is a house that has been converted into a bar and flats, dating from the late 19th century. It is constructed from grey header bricks with red brick detailing around the windows and corners. The roof is concealed. The building has four storeys and features one wide bay. On the left side, there is a 20th-century glazed door, while the right side has shop windows set within a late 19th-century shop front.
The first floor showcases a tripartite bow oriel window with sash windows that have leaded lights. The lights are divided by pilasters that extend down through the apron, topped with a bracketed cornice. On the second floor, there are two late 19th-century sash windows beneath gauged brick flat arches. The third floor also has sash windows, each with an upper sash containing three panes and a lower sash with three long panes, accompanied by attached guard rails at the sills. A dentilled cornice is present over the blocking course at the parapet. The interior has not been inspected.
