Description
A house, later used as a bank and now flats, was built in the late 18th century, with alterations in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building was designed by Samuel Wyatt. It is constructed of stucco, with a concealed roof to number 59 and a flat-topped Welsh slate roof to number 60. A rendered stack is located to the left of number 60. Number 59 is three storeys high and has five bays, with the two left bays projecting. It features a rusticated ground floor, and rusticated quoins on the second and third floors. The front door is a four-panelled door set within a glazed screen. Number 60 also has a four-panelled door with an overlight, flanked by four-pane sash windows, all set within round-headed rusticated recesses. The first floor windows are sashes of 12 panes to number 59 and four panes to number 60, with recessed panels below the sills. Second floor windows are sashes of six panes. A dentilled cornice runs along the top of the building, topped by a coped parapet, which is higher over number 60. There are three 20th-century dormer windows on number 60, and a 20th-century roof extension. A return frontage of five bays exists to the right. The interior has not been inspected. The building displays group value.
